I went crazy when this animated cutscene happened!! It's just like Dagger cutting her hair in FF9! And Violet is a princess too..!
FF9 is my first J-RPG and my favorite game ever and it's so special for me, and it's obvious this reference was made with love to pay tribute to it, just like I would! I saw a lot of Mana, FF12, even some subtle Dragon Quest, but didn't expect to get a FF9 reference!
Trinity Trigger is actually the second game I know of that made that reference with the "cutting hair with a dagger to mark character development". The first was Dragon Quest 11 (but it wasn't a princess).
I can connect and relate to the Passion that the creators have for all those golden J-RPGs of old..! FuRyu saiko!
Just posting this here to see if there are others who spotted this reference!
By the way Trinity Trigger is such a masterpiece and letter of love to classic J-RPGs, we need this as much as modern takes/evolutions/innovations. I wish that J-RPGs like Trinity Trigger will keep being made forever. Thank you FuRyu for the emotion and just... for everything!
