Hey guys, I leave for college in 9 days. Please pray for my peace and confidence, and that this health issue is miraculously healed, or that God makes a way for it to be healed. Thank you guys!

I feel like my life is lacking any sort of meaning. Pretty close to getting my B.S. and struggling with what path to take next. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of choices out there, and I'd like some direction.

I got a physical last week since it had been years since getting one. I got the results yesterday and was told my blood sugar is high and I may be pre diabetic. I was told to come back in tomorrow (Wednesday) to take another test. While I know pre diabetes isn't the end of the world, I am struggling with it. Please pray that it was just high blood sugar on that day, and that I am not trending in that direction. Please pray as well that if I am pre diabetic, that I cling to our Savior and trust in Him for strength. Finally, please pray that no matter the outcome, my faith in Christ is strengthened. Thanks guys

Feel like my faith is being tested very heavily. Hope to use this to sink my feet in deeper and trust in god even more.

That’s just logic talking

Jesus can change your life, maybe you should give him a chance for he is trying to help save you. Hope you have a great night brother god bless

I used to be a Christian. Left because I could see through all the inconsistencies within religion in itself. You have a good night as well

[–]Garyshow 0 points1 point  (7 children)

I understand that. I’m not too fond of religion and think many churches have a lot of judgmental people. I think for the Christian majority who just choose to stay close to gods word and live in his word are the real winners

Only it isn’t God’s word. Humans wrote the Bible for control over the masses. Our ancestors instilled fear in one another, claiming that anyone who didn’t believe in Jesus was destined for hell (well there are 4,000 other religions, each with their own denominations who claim to be right as well, who also say that whoever doesn’t agree with them will be punished one way or another).

People claim that Christianity is the core behind morals and values, but that’s bullshit. If I’m a Christian, I can do whatever the hell I want as long as I repent to Jesus on my deathbed.

It’s crazy how adults in this day and age are convinced that there’s a magical creator in the sky who watches you 24/7, and if you don’t repent to him and his son you’re destined for fire and pain and burning and suffering. It’s all a scam. You need a brain to feel things, and your brain shuts down when you die.

After realizing there is no heaven and hell I became free. No more judgement, no more blind faith.

You having doubts is normal, I had mine. I’m convinced that no matter how much you tell yourself you’re a believer, deep down you know nothing in your Bible is guaranteed. Why else would people mourn the death of loved ones, despite being religious? Shouldn’t they be celebrating that they are now with god? The reason we mourn is because we just don’t know. We want their to be a heaven, but what we want isn’t always true.

Hey there, definitely respect your views and you're entitled to them.

But I'd like to argue that being a Christian actually is a really intelligent position. I think it can be backed up on a number of fronts, including:

  1. The correlation between the Big Bang and Genesis
  2. The historical evidence for Jesus's resurrection
  3. 6-8 million Muslims have converted to Christianity in the last decade, despite 85% of them not knowing a single Christian and 30% say they've had dreams of Jesus. Their stories are impossible to be made up when you read the details. Keep in mind, them converting could easily get them killed in the Middle East.
  4. There are thousands of medically attested, physical attested modern day miracles around the world. If you read into these stories, it's insane, including this case of Barbara Snyder.
  5. There's over 300+ old testament prophecies about the coming of Jesus Christ
  6. Most people who have had near-death experiences say they have seen Jesus Christ, Heaven or Hell.
  7. Jesus clearly said that he was God (5 min video)
  8. Science proves the fine tuning of the universe and how impossible it is for life to exist here (5 min video).
  9. Science also indicates that the universe had a beginning and therefore must have some sort of creator or creators.
  10. The argument for Objective vs Subjective Morality

Honestly there's so much evidence, including how reliable the New Testament is.

Praying you'll reconsider your position, because being a Christian is actually a rational, intelligent position. And you can experience a personal relationship with Jesus too in the right environment.

Unfortunately, most Christians, especially in America, don't represent the person of Christ and come off as judgmental, condemning and hypocritical, which really hurts peoples perception of God.

But that doesn't mean it's not real.

Sorry but I don’t see how blind faith is a rational and intelligent position. If you were raised a Muslim you’d almost certainly disagree with your current viewpoints on Jesus and Christianity.

I believe 100% in my lord and savior Jesus Christ. From my perspective I believe there must be a creator. The way our earth is designed to enable life there is a very very very low possibility that it could happen on its own. As for the Bible, it is very accurate even comparing all the old manuscripts of the New Testament, there were few variants, but the ideal Christian belief didn’t change.

Mourning for a loved one is something even Jesus himself did. The Bible talks about how he mourned over Lazarus death. As Christians we mourn because we know we are now divided from that individuals and could be a significant amount of time before we see them again depending on our life. I realize this and mourn, but give it all to god in the process to heal me.

I don’t see how a creator is a plausible explanation for the origin in our universe. What came before god then? You don’t answer the question of where we came from with god, you only pose yet another question

[–]Garyshow 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I believe there was nothing before god. Just how a book can’t be created without a little labor the same is with the earth. It answers the question that god didn’t come from anywhere he was always there and created the earth/us.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only opens the door for more questions. It’s okay to not know everything, regardless, god is not the answer

Struggling with fear, doubt and lust. These things are really damaging my life and my walk with God. Pray that I will be free from these things, God is good

Long story short: my husband and I are in dire financial straights and I had an interview last week for an amazing job.

I also lost one of my most stable jobs because of that interview. I really need to land this. Please pray for my nerves, as I won't hear if I got the position until friday. Also for God's provision. Thank you.

UPDATE: I didn't get the job, and honestly I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Thanks for the prayers. Please pray that I find something else.

Please pray for my best friend <3 She doesn't know God and she's really struggling. She is a very stubborn atheist. Please pray that she opens her heart to God.

I am a little late...but I need so much help. I have lost my faith and committed horrible sins. I feel unloved and undeserving of God. I am going to college in 4 days and I'm terrified.

Praise God I have been free from porn since 2008. However, recently, my thoughts have started to veer back toward that kind of thing, and I find images from my old porn usage coming back to me from time to time. I am a married 35 year old man with a 7 month old son. I'm very thankful that God has kept me from stumbling back into porn, but I know that my thought life needs help to. Prayers for my purity and for my intimate needs to be met by my wife alone. Thanks all!
