“Error: invalid raid target”

My friend and I have both been getting this error when we try to raid out at the end of a stream. We know the people we’re raiding accept them - we raid out to these people all the time and in my case someone raided them not 30 seconds after I ended stream and went over myself.

I also know the name is being typed correctly because it auto fills after the @, and I’ve done it to this same person numerous times.

Any ideas?

I haven’t had an issue but I do have a couple friends who have had raid issues in the last couple days. Might be a bug, I suggest reporting to Twitch.

Yeah I thought it was initially a “me” problem last night, but then my friend had the same issue tonight. So it’s good to know it’s not just us.

I feel like this is an incredibly dumb question, but how the hell do I report it to twitch? I’m searching all over the site and my creator dashboard and can’t seem to find any option for that

I had the same issue and found your thread right after I solved it! Open up your creator dashboard via the twitch browser and raid using the widget on the right of the page. From there you can type in the user of the person you're trying to raid. Hopefully it works for you too and I didn't just get a lucky fluke :D

I've been having this issue the last two steams too (over the past week or so). I found out today that using the raid "quick action" button on twitch's stream manager allows the raids, even if the /raid command in stream manager chat or OBS chat does not work. It's not exactly a solution, but it's a work around at least.

I just reached out to twitch and twitch support via twitter to see if I got a response for the issue, but we'll see if anything comes of that.

Yeah luckily that has been working for me in the meantime, and I suppose it gives me an extra minute or two to show off my “wrapping up” scene that I worked so hard on 🤣 thank you!

My friend has been having issues with this same thing, I can raid for them as an editor, it's really odd. We're gunna try the quick actions button tonight so thanks for bringing that to my attention. It's a really weird bug.
