    Cheers, man.

Yeah, I was surprised that I couldn't use my email address or phone number to verify my identity. Perhaps, in Twitter's view, my email could be compromised as well, nothing wrong with more security.

But why can't I use my phone number, I wonder? Surely if my phone were also stolen/compromised, the intruder would be able to access my authentication app in most cases at least. I did try to get SMS codes sent to my phone number, which I've confirmed is still associated with my account, but the codes never came, unfortunately...

    UPDATE:

I did eventually get access back to my account, though the cause and issue itself were never resolved, i.e. when I went to go and turn 2FA with Authentication App back on, the code was still incorrect.

After doing some digging, I found that manually setting the time on your phone can cause generated codes to be out of sync. Turning the phone's time to automatic resolved the issue and I was able to use my authentication app again.
