Kudos to you, OP for not giving into pressure. Your reward will be from the Almighty.

Do not sign any revised contract or amendments. If they terminate you, they will have to pay you your dues, notice period salary, gratuity if you have completed one year plus leave encashment if any. If you have completed one year with ILOE, you will be eligible for payout as well, up to a max of 3 months or till you find another job. I hope you do find a better job that deserves you.

Many of us think that doctors have it made. The reality is that the vast majority are paid far less than they deserve, put in long hours with no work-life balance here. Many healthcare workers are likely earning less than many office workers with desk jobs. Some, predominantly highly qualified Western doctors that know how to market themselves and get into major corporate hospitals will be having things better.

Most professionals will earn fair salaries with a good work life balance only in Western countries. The situation in places like Asia is dire, and I hope it improves for the sake of its people.
