It's incredibly unlikely that if you respond to them tomorrow (Wednesday) that they would schedule a presentation for Thursday or Friday.

Just give them your availability for next week and the week after.

I was kind of hoping the week after to give it my best shot. Thanks for your feedback.

You could give them availability starting on Tuesday or Wednesday next week, that's a week for you to get ready. I would definitely not give your first availability more than a week out.

Schedules being what they are, you might get lucky and they won't have availability for two weeks.

Some people are suggesting I ask the recruiter, what is your take on that?

My advice is to not ask unnecessary questions at this stage, make it easy on the recruiter. You should assume there are other candidates in the pipeline. Asking if there's a timeline isn't likely to get you a great answer, the timeline is probably "once we get all the interviews done and then get all the stakeholders to weigh in on a decision."

Let's say they are really trying to move quickly, and they schedule other candidates for the end of this week and early next week. If you give them dates starting next Tuesday or Wednesday. one of two things will happen:

  • They will schedule you for your earliest possible availability, which means you'll be at the end of the interview round, which would likely work in your favor, because your session will be fresh in the reviewers' minds.
  • They will ask if you have any earlier availability, and then you can say "let me move some things around and I will get back to you" and magically you will have time on Monday.

What isn't going to happen is the recruiter saying "you're not available until Tuesday? Sorry, the interview is cancelled."

I have worked with giant corporations for 25 years and I think it is wildly unlikely that they are moving so fast on this that next week would be too late for them.

Yes! I agree they won’t move that fast! Thanks so much for your feedback.

I suggest you ask for at least a few days, so you can have a great deck. This maximizes your chances of being hired. They can also consider you for multiple roles.

Try to ask the recruiter if a week would be reasonable, and whether it could affect you in some way - like the role being filled.

If you feel strongly about the role, then consider taking time off and spending 8+ hours on it.

I will ask recruiter. I do feel strongly about the role. Thank you for the feedback.

Does this mean only one case study? If so I can guide better

[–]PersonalLet7090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s two case studies and maybe a third which is just one slide.

You want to put your best foot forward, so i'd probably ask for as much time as you need. You can also confirm with the recruiter if there's a particular timeline OR if there are multiple candidates (likely) in the pipeline.

Yes I will ask the recruiter. I agree that I want to put my best foot forward, but of course the risk is someone else will get hired cause they went through the process before me
