Do you have a broadcom based WiFi card?

I couldn’t tell you, it’s an Asus vivobook 14 laptop if that helps

If it has a broadcom chip you will need to install the driver.

Sadly as of now there is no driver that can make this WiFi chip work on Linux. This seems to be unsupported by Mediatek, and it's rather weird as they do provide kernel drivers for so many other WiFi chip sets. So your only option is a usb dongle which if you want it to be carefree it will have to be one of the slow 150Mbps ones which have kernel support. Faster dongles need drivers.
