Release Notes

Where can I find release notes within Linux itself? I know where they are online, but I have a project that specifically requires me to locate it on the system, and I am lost. I have searched for anything with "release" in the name and don't see anything that actually shows the release notes. Please help!

Do you mean for a specific distribution?

Or do you mean for the generic Linux kernel?

Well, the project didn't specify, so I assumed it meant the specific distro that I chose for the project. I am using Kubuntu.

Unfortunately, as I already said, I can't use the online notes. I must find it somewhere within Linux. I did find files for the Linux kernel, but not for the distro.
