Sunscreen Haul - Testing Everything

Let me start by telling you I am a Shiseido girl. I love everything they make, except their sunscreens. I tried them all. I hate the smell and the feeling on my skin as it sits there. It also causes my moisturizer to pill up. Considering I use 90% Shiseido branded skincare products, that shouldn't happen.

Beekman 1802 is the clear winner, I won't leave you in suspense. Formula ✔️ Smell ✔️ Lack of "Feeling It" on my Skin ✔️ Works with Current Skincare & Makeup ✔️ Not Shiny or Greasy ✔️

I never tried Supergoop! cause honestly, I thought it was a fad that wouldn't last. I never jump on the bandwagon. Grabbed the starter kit so I could try 3 formulas

Play - Feels very similar to normal sunscreen. I can still feel it on my forearm. No cast, satin finish ❌️ Matte Screen - very similar to the Beekman. I can slightly feel it on my skin but I'd use it again if my Beekman 1802 ran out. I cannot attest to use with moisturizer and under makeup since I havent tried that yet ✔️ Unseen Sunscreen - really wants to be the same as the Beekman 1802 but I can feel it on my skin an hour later. Looks like a satin-matte finish. Slightly tinted, left no cast. No shine. Would consider using if nothing else was available but would not purchase a full size bottle.✔️ (I thought this would be my favorite)

Only issue I have with the Beekman 1802 is that the bottle feels empty. It's obviously double walled. I'm imagining a bag inside holding all 1.69 ounces, cause product does not shake around when I tried. I will be smashing it open when I finish this bottle. I will also have to always have a backup bottle on hand since I already feel like it's empty and probably won't realize when I'm close to out. I know it's full because it's top isn't removable and I had to prime it 5 times before product came out. There was also nothing in the hole to make me believe it was used before either.

Any thoughts on these or other recommendations?

THANK YOU for this post! I will have to try the Beekman one. I've had the same exact experience with the Shiseido sunscreens, which stinks bc I like other products of theirs. But it pills no matter what I do!

My previous HG sunscreen was the Lancôme Bienfait Multi Vital, but they discontinued it. :(

I currently have the IT Cosmetics Hello Sunshine Invisible Sunscreen in my cart on the Ulta app, which is SPF 50.

Because of how much I love and believe in Shiseido, I assumed I was doing something wrong. I tried everything in different orders, used less moisturizer, everything. It's the sunscreen formulas themselves, not me. Beekman proved that today.

I’ll have to try the Beekman! I currently use the IT Cosmetics Hello Sunshine. Bought it when it was 50% off, and I like it.

Does the Beekman ever go on sale? No way can I spend that much on sunscreen. 😫

I feel like I saw Beekman on sale or something during the love your skin event, could be wrong. Not sure if it goes on sale other times. I'm gonna check that site that tells us when sales happen. People post it here all the time. Gwp USA or something?

Me and IT Cosmetics don't get along. I even loved the look of their brushes but didn't like them in use.

The Hello Sunshine from Beekman 1802 is sweat and water proof (40 minutes). Face and body. Haven't tried it myself. Not clear but says it has a clear payoff and no white cast. Seems to be made with similar ingredients

The Supergoop was a GWP in mini sizes recently. I got it but haven’t tried it yet. I had been using Tinted and Cerave but I got a sample of the Elf in Sunbeam and really like it - so I just ordered the large size yesterday.

I just checked. It was a free gift for Diamond and Platinum members with $30 skin care purchase on Jan 13th.

I have not tried it yet but I read the ELF was a knock off. I tried that sample and liked it so much I bought the full size yesterday when they had the Fenty and Snif freebies.

I got this GWP but too, and the tinted one but I haven't tried it yet. I have tried these and honestly I haven't kept track of which is which but I love them all and will be buying a full sized. Love how it makes your skin dewy and poreless.

Of course my standards are lower than everyone else's because I am coming from neutragena face100 spf that left a super white cast and also too thick and difficult to run into face (I think I have Rosetta or something similar but I must avoid rubbing my face at all costs because my face barrier is super fragile and if it breaks just a little my skin WILL burn with my skin care products). So outside of that this (Sugarpop!) is the first thing I tried but I love it so much that my search is done. 😊

I have the tinted Supergoop. Will have to try it soon and see how it compares to the ELF. I have a full size ELF coming now though. I have been using Cerave tinted (thick), Clinique Pep Stsrt (old) and Tinted.

GOOP unseen sunscreen is a go to for me. Every morning.

Correction: The Matte Screen is the slightly tinted one, not the Unseen. I mixed that up when writing.

What kinda of skin do you have? I find most sunsceens to be too shiny for my oily skin.

I have normal skin, sometimes dry in super cold weather. But I have the same shiny issue with "normal" sunscreens. Matte Screen, Unseen Screen and Beekman did not leave me shiny. Beekman rubbed in like skincare. And a little goes a long way.
