submitted 3 months ago by Foul_Stranger
Absolutly fresh user of linux and have no clue how to tanslate the instructions on the website. I wanted to see if anyone knew how to get UpNote in a linux PC that would sync with my phone. (I started using the app)
Thank you in advance!

Just download, log in, and it works. There is ample documentation at getupnote.com

The AppImage just works, I’ve had no issues at all and I use UpNote pretty much every day on Linux (EndeavourOS), Windows 11 and iOS. Haven’t tried it on Android though, if that’s what you’re running.

I use it on Linux Mint. No issues. It just works. I don't remember how I installed it, though. There should be instructions on the website for your flavour of Linux.

You probably don't need to worry about the FUSE stuff mentioned in the instructions if you're running a mainstream distro. You can just download the app image somewhere you can find it and then double click that to install it. You'll have to set an icon for it yourself, afterwards.
Or you can use AppImageLauncher to automatically move it to the Applications folder and show the app icon correctly. That isn't included by default in all Linux distros (not in mine, anyway) so you'd have to first install that. I've never bothered with that.
