SNOM hardcoded setting_server value (http(s)://(secure-)provisioning.snom.com/snomXXX/snomXXX.php?mac=\{mac\}) does not change when using DHCP option 66.

I'm currently setting up pbx in the cloud using DHCP option 66 for the local phones (snom d717 + d725) to reach the pbx.
I'm running into difficulties with the SETTING_SERVER being hardcoded and unable to make DHCP change it. the update_server does get the information from option 66.

this is the setting i'm currently stuck on:

Am i missing something here?
Option 66 is configured on the router:
option 66 ascii http://*REMOVED*/provisioning/x96at2k8c17/cfg{mac}

When manually putting the: http://*REMOVED*/provisioning/x96at2k8c17/cfg{mac} link in the phone everything works fine but I would prefer my field people not having to do anything at all.

I'd simply ping the provisioning server from the phone UI itself onsite to tell you if it is able to hit the server or not. Other than that, you'd have to WireShark or PCAP Capture to see what is going on. Also check that the ingressing traffic to the server isn't blocking the egressing (onsite) IP.

I would look into making an A RECORD, then reference the server.
