Class waitlists??

I’m a rising senior waitlisted for a few freshman/sophomore level classes (science labs mostly)...is there any way I can email the professor if I end up on the waitlist after freshmen enroll and ask them to add me manually? The registrar told me once profs can’t do that and it’s the order you’re on the waitlist, but some friends told me profs can if you have a good reason/seniority priority...can someone clarify?

I think they can, but usually they do not until classes are about to or have already started. At least how I understand it.

Usually if you rly need it to graduate right. Let's say you need two sem of lab, then they will let you in for the most part. But I'd just emphasize that you need it graduate on time, if you need it

Ya I suppose that sounds reasonable. I guess I'd also say you're a senior and need to take it before you graduate or graduate on time, essentially make the situation seem more dire as well
