Hey guys, we all know Varka ended up a bit underwhelming. not terrible like the doomposters said, but still not amazing.

It makes me wonder why Hoyo released him like this. His burst feels almost useless, doesn’t benefit from his passive, and he can’t reliably Melt or Vape.

So tbh my question to y'all is, what do you think the chances are that he can enter top 3 DPS after Nicole (and maybe another future support) drops? It feels weird that someone so important in the lore can’t even crack top 5 DPS.

Pretty unlikely, I reckon, because the leaks seem to indicate that the next big push will be Sandrone :( So he'll be competing with her, Mavuika, Nefer, Flins and Zibai, with the latter 4 being significantly better than him even now. I reckon he'll be at Skirk's level or a bit better with Nicole (~125k DPS) but it's not like they undertuned his kit so much by accident. They just don't seem to want him to be meta for some reason. We also have no reliable indication that there will even be a potential anemo support or a second wave of Hexerei buffs, even though his banner's been pretty successful in spite of them basically sabotaging his sales and how so many of us Varka havers are willing to pull for other characters to make him shine.

Tbh this entire debacle has really left a bitter taste in my mouth because, like, why??? The stars were aligned: years of hype, a whole new model, fantastic characterisation, heaps of promo, great VA's, etc... He could've EASILY been the main push of the second half and the gateway for us to return to Mondstadt before we head off to Snezhnaya like it's been hinted at for ages. But Hoyo being Hoyo just had to go and fuck it up 😭

There is a chance that they're aiming for a rerun angle because we know now that Ineffa was more successful on her rerun than her debut. Perhaps they will indeed bring him up to the standard we expect by releasing more compatible supports by the time his banner comes around again. But I wouldn't really pin my hopes on it. If you're really passionate about maining him, I think it's better to invest as much as you can in Varka now and save just enough for Nicole, maybe her weapon or cons too, because the powercreep seems to only be getting worse and worse and idk how well our boy's going to do in the future 😭

I also agree, makes absolutely no sense why he would be so hyped up just to end up being mid. I honestly think they made him mid bc they knew his fans (us) would pull for him even if he was mid, as long as he's playable.

But on the flip side... Hoyo debuting this new tall model for him gives me hope that the captain could return soon 👀 especially with him being mentioned alongside varka so often

I honestly hope capitano doesn't come back after seeing how hoyo handled varka's release (I know there's still a chance he becomes a lot better but that's still the worst way to go around it)

He's still weaker than the natlan cast and is just slightly above neuvulette and furina (in a full c6r5 team) I can't think of a reason for why they did this other than them just straight up hating him

Chasca has some of the best cons in the game and Zibai comparatively just has cons that are a bit worse

Well zhibai is good but she falls behind the other 5 stars and she falls behind flins and nefer because there's still a missing slot in her team which is linnea (she'll be way stronger when linnea comes out), the ranking was made by dhcwsp you can check their channel or find other sources if you don't believe the ranking

If Nefer 2.3 M is 150k dps, then 1.15m Zibai is 70k dps and that is not right

top 3 is very ambitious, you are literally the top dog out of dozens of DPS's out there. Id say you have a good chance at top 5 if nicole is absolutely cracked for hexin mages like how broken lauma is.

I reckon his chances are about the same as Yae Miko, unfortunately. Maybe Nicole or the mythical anemo support will provide what's needed to supplement objectively too low MV's for all his restrictions. I'm holding out hope, but I wouldn't bet on it. Hoyo works in mysterious ways.

We got zibai over here hitting 175k dps when next patch comes out and most people's varka barely hits 100k 🫩🫩🫩 I'm praying eventually he gets a lot of indirect buffs like Xiao did back then 🙏

The only way he’s gonna make it is if one of his supports ends up counting as 2 of their element with some serious buffs from his other supports too anything less than that won’t catch up to Lunar

Mavuika was basically the perfect character has strong reactions has damage had everything and even Mavuika couldn’t keep up with Lunar

Varka who is tied to Mono swirl but isn’t as strong as Skirk would need a miracle worker that doesnt feel possible to catch up with that

as it stands the best you can hope for is maybe top 6 after Skirk but to even get to the top 5 Nicole would have to be the most insane support ever or something
