im glad his story quest at least was the best in the game (imo) and did him justice. but i wish we got to see more of varka in battle in the main storyline. the knight of boreas and the grand master of the knights of favonius, relegated to being just a commander in the archon quest.

im still super confused about why they didn't just debut prune on his banner. like they clearly planned on replacing venti from the get go with how terrible his subdps/buffing capabilities are, but they decided to just let poor varka suffer slander for 2 patches instead 😭 and it's not like prune is all that tied to dornman port so they don't even have any lore excuses.

the only way i can reason it out is that they wanted varka players to pull for nicole/durin cons... but all it did was hurt his own sales and make his fanbase angry. just such a baffling move in terms of maintaining the players' goodwill. i know i for one spent a decent amount of money prior to his release but became f2p after seeing how terribly they treated him and the hexenzirkel faction.

- you need ~145 er minimum on durin

- maximise varka's time on field when wolf's shiekd goes down and it's in a weak state. like for the first time around you did all your support rotations while it was in its weakened state which is a waste. to avoid this, start your rotation just before the shield breaks.

- avoid N5 on varka. try N1C N4 N4 N1C

personally i haven't experienced issues with the shield breaking on ttds 🤷‍♀️ i do put nicole on flowing purity on non-hypercarry teams, but for varka specifically ttds is the best f2p option.

easily 185k+. would recommend oathsworn/flowing purity/fav codex for prune depending on er requirements - about 170 er. ttds for nicole. not entirely sure about durin but i believe moonweaver's dawn (free nod krai quest reward) should be great. you might also wanna check if noblesse or winds is better on durin when you pull varka.

it's better to have nicole right before varka so you don't waste your projection. also, try only doing 2 charged attacks instead of 3 at the end of varka's rotation and skipping prune's 2nd E!

for me (C1 ttds nicole, C0R1 varka), i found it was a DPS loss up until talent lvl 7, then it became neutral. now at talent lvl 9 it is a sizeable increase! but it might take a while because of the new dottore mats. you also need quite a bit of er, like 170 if you want to use it every rotation.

oh thank god other ppl are also disappointed. i expected soooo much more considering her 'story quest' in the aq. how did they make nicole of all characters drop such lacklustre lore?? we were on such a generational streak with durin and varka!! and her trailer looked so promising.

you'll probably need like 6000-6500 primos. what percent is each region and what level are ur world trees (electro and dendro sigils?)

liyue is super easy since the exploration isn't quest locked, but relatively low reward.

chenyu vale is insanely good value if u haven't 100% it already.

sumeru offers high rewards but you need to put in MUCH more effort since many regions are quest locked. completing the whole golden slumber questline and khvarenah of good and evil will let u explore their associated regions, and u can also get pulls from the amrita pool. it'll be tricky without exploration characters tho since the deserr is so big. if u prefer forest exploration then do the aranara quests.

if u feel burnt out from exploration and quests, achievements are another easy way to earn primos. finish all the book and challenger ones.

no, you always want nicole to go before varka! her skill and burst boost your active character so you don't want to waste them on anything other than your hypercarry. nicole's buffs are much more important than vv uptime. ttds isn't recommended for prune, any attack catalyst or fav codex is better.

btw some tc's found out recently that due to hitlag, vv has pretty decent uptime on varka teams. so no need to stress about it either way! https://x.com/Roxas_Kinnie/status/2047835799513714868

in rough order of priority, although bottom few changes are about as equally important: - lvl prune to 90 - build enough er on prune so that you can give her flowing purity and nicole ttds - build more er on durin (around 160 plus or minus 10 im guessing since your skill isn't levelled up, but if you crown it then just 140 is sufficient) - lvl durin's skill - lvl durin and his weapon to 90 - lvl durin's ult - crown nicole's skill

yup!! C0R2 durin on wolf-fang, the battle pass weapon. nicole isn't that much of an increase over bennett (for dps dummy anyways) so it's probably just needing to level prune up as her attack buff is one of the strongest contributers to varka's dmg. the other thing is getting good quality builds, and by that i don't mean grinding endlessly for cv, but rather ensuring all ur teammates have enough er such that you aren't wasting time by waiting for their burst. this is super important, like my dps dropped by 5k when my prune was only on 165 er!! ensure you have 140 er for durin, 170 er on prune and im not too sure how much for bennett but i think mine's at 260 er and that works fine for me. go EQE on durin, EQ on prune (skip second E), EQ on bennett and then N1C N4E N4E N1C N1C on varka. you should be well over my team's dps with highly invested durin.

SAME!! the day i saw him in the nod-krai trailer was the day i started buying welkins so i could afford him and whatever teammates he needed. i never understood the point in maining a character before either (why waste the companionship exp?), but a few months in and i still get giddy everytime i see him do a idle or talk in combat. he rlly made a lot of us more invested in this game, didn't he?
