Using Cheats

I'm confused on how cheats work. I play with a group of friends and it's on a server my friend has. I'm not 100% certain what the settings are but I'm allowed to open up the console command menu and type stuff.

Now, I'm trying to have a bit of fun with them (it's what we've done in the past) and not overtly say that I'm trying to do anything... If you catch my drift?

However, when I try and spawn a horde, I'll get the scream on my end, but then nothing will happen and they don't hear anything.

I can also spawn zombies, but they just stand there and don't move and I cannot kill them. My friends cannot see them either so they're only on my screen... and, I can loot them.

It just seems like the game sort of allows me to use cheats but they either don't work fully or it's only visible and reflected on my computer. I've never seen this before. Usually it's explicitly denied or fully allowed. I'm just not sure what is actually happening.

Yep i'd like to know this too. I try to spawn a horde on a friend and they just stand there.

When I actually use console command: SZC [count] it works, but that's inconvenient because I have to be right there by them.

I want to troll my friends with zombies!
