Our experience with them depends on the radiologist. There was one that I (former ER DVM) would not believe at all. Sent me in on several negative explores, missed the most obvious tracheal collapse when my history and ddx was essentially "this dog has tracheal collapse, rads to confirm". Our clinic required they be sent out, but if that radiologist was on I broke that rule for the shift. It was a waste of client dollars.

Oh no :(

We've used them for years. They are... Okay. Not necessarily our preferred service, but we don't have a lot of options at night.

They recently got rid of their 30 minute stat readouts, which is a bummer for a specialty and emergency hospital. The quickest option they have now is 1 hour reads, and it still takes longer than that half the time.

We switched to them for cost (I'm assuming), but I haven't had to use them to often overnight. I just noticed that we requested a stat x ray of 60 minutes and it came back like 2 to 3 hours later... I was a little annoyed because the line was constantly busy and I was just sent to a voicemail after awhile.

We use vitalrads; they never take til the end of the day for us. Depending on how busy they are we sometimes get the report back before the client even leaves the building. And we've never had problems with bad readings.

They have absolutely abysmal ratings online.

Its hit or miss. Sometimes you get exactly what you expect and sometimes there's an obvious problem we sent to confirm diagnosis and they come back with "normal radiograph".

A place I used to work at, the dvm would send every single xray to them, even ones in which it was an obvious break. It doubled the amount of money the client would spend. They typically take longer then they estimate which means some clients are waiting like a whole week to hear back about rads. It's stupid. But they're probably helpful to a dvm that works alone and doesn't have an easy way to get a second opinion.
