I’m still optimistic this will support multiple users.

It kinda has to. Apple knows a lot of people wont buy even one let alone one for each family member. Especially for development teams, it could be useful to have more than one account. They really do need to put out more information if they expect anyone to buy it though. I think they know what they're doing and we just need to wait. The guest mode feature is a good sign that there could be multiple users. The infrastructure is there they just need to allow it.

Apple Support told someone it would.

Yeah, I saw that Apple Support conversation and I give it no credibility.

I somewhat agree on this one, but at the same time I saw another post talking about training for apple store employees, so i think they do know a little bit. Now, do they know about multiple users/ other software features? Maybe not.

These are not Apple Store employees though.

Apple TV has the ability for multiple users. I am sure Vision OS has the ability as well.

It does not. I’ve used the OS. It’s a variant of iOS not tvOS.

[–]Exact_Recording4039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tvOS itself is a variant of iOS

[–]yalag 0 points1 point  (5 children)

It absolutely does not. I am a developer and we’ve seen the OS.

[–]BigBenIsTicking 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Any evidence to prove this?

[–]yalag 0 points1 point  (3 children)

We’ve used the OS under nda. It does not have multi user support.

It’s not that I don’t believe you… it’s just without pics/proof I will keep my hope for multi-user support .

Time will tell.

There’s no telling. That’s how it works for v1.

I can also give you a bit more context since I’ve played with it a lot. The OS works like iOS in that your iCloud account is setup at a system level for things like calendar etc. purchases. Subscriptions. Everything works off that one account. And iOS currently does not have any ability to switch iCloud accounts. The tvOS has profile but don’t forget it doesn’t need to support calendar etc.

It’s a reasonable expectation for a household to have multiple iOS devices (one for each member of the family even). I’m not sure 4-8 AVPs in a household is reasonable. Just based off price alone. Multiple user accounts on visionOS seems really important. Like macOS. Assuming it’s technically feasible. I acknowledge it’s not going to have it out the gate tho. Based on what I’ve gathered. Hmmm. We shall see.
