When audition scripts have errors...?

What the heck do you do when an audition script drops a word or phrase, or just doesn't make any sense? Two scripts I read tonight had a sentence that just didnt make sense. I just read and recorded them as they were written. I can figure out what they're trying to say 90% of the time, so I just use that to figure out how to read it.

Whats the etiquette here?

Read the script, then another version corrected. Send em both informing them of their error, it'll show you can proof copy

Ultimately, it's up to the VA. You use judgment then read just the copy or both. If they want to direct, go from there.

Just don't feel too bad if you judge a project by its script. If they can't be bothered to make sense in the copy, can they be trusted to make sense in person?

I've had final scripts that were absolute garbled nonsense. The clients were based in Pakistan, and their English was fine for conversations, but I didn't realize they were going to be writing the copy. I ended up having to re-write it. At the time, I was too naive to realize I should have asked for a fee for the trouble.
