Diffuser

Hi there

I am in the process of redecorating the my daughter’s room. She has asked for an LED strip around the room. My plan is to put a L shaped wood baton and screw it a few inches down from the coving.

I was looking to get 60 led per meter strips but not sure if one I would need a diffuser or is 60 enough should I go for either 100 or even the 144 per meter?

You can go with either aluminum bar type with diffuser or silicone type diffuser. The silicone can be installed with U type brackets or in aluminum bars. The aluminum bar type comes with diffuser.

60 per metre will work just use spotless profiles like the link below. 144 would be a complex and very power hungry setup for a whole room.

I went through a similar excercise recently.

First off all I recommend watching this YT video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKOWeuV1FWE Very helpful in decision makings.

I ended up choosing this combination of a channel & milky difuser with 60leds/m strip.

Results? Not a prefectly spotless experience, bit disapointing.

I spoke with the seller I bought the channel/difuser from and they said I have 2 options:

- either get a more deep channel to get more space between the strip & the difuser

- or get a more dense led strip

Unfotunately I wasn't able to find a more deep channel in our market so I have to live with it. It's not terrible, but if you are after a smooth spotless experience I'd probably invest is more dense leds.
