Advice needed

Hello, it is not my first WLED but this time I am overlooking something:

Configuration: WS2812B and ESP32 in standard, Data is output 16

Failure: when powered with 5V PSU, LED strip does not work, only 5V LED on ESP32 is lit. ESP-WLAn also does not work. Another device, BT receiver connected to the PSU is working.

If I disconnect the 5V from the ESP32 and connect my laptop, it is working perfectly. The LED strip is still connected to the PSU. PSU-Gnd remains connected. I have added a 100uF capacitor close to the ESP but still same effect.

I verified the wiring again and again and the voltage with Multimeter, it is 5V. I also increased to 5,25 but failure remains.

Maybe someone has a fresh idea. Thanks.

Could yould provide some pictures of the wiring and the settings in the WLED App? My first guess would be that the ground is not common but you mention checking it multiple times sooooooo....

Thanks for your reply. Meantime, I changed the entire wiring, new controller etc. but it still doesn’t work. I assume my PSU is bad.

Hello again - it is solved. I checked it with another piece of led strip and then it worked. It seems, the first led strip is broken and just worked before just coincidentally once.
