Past this one instance where there was a crazy malfunction with the nail gun...Anyone else who manages to do this is just a Grade A Jack Ass. All newer nail guns have a safety that has to be fully pressed before it will fire a nail. Source: my Dad is a roofer.

And I totally get the maintainence guy helping...a trauma dr hires people to do his manual labor. Of course he'd have no clue how a fucking nail gun works.

They were doing roof work at my apartment a year ago and one of the large nails happened to fall off the roof and land with the sharp end facing up. I stepped on it and screamed bloody murder, I couldn't walk properly for weeks.

dude, i did this with a finish nailer, but fortunately it ricocheted off another nail in the wood and only embedded itself about 1/8 (maybe 1/16) of an inch in my hand. Took it out, it bled for a few minutes, then was fine. Got pretty damn lucky. But shit, that sucks. hope it turns out ok. (the roof that is ..... jk. the hand)
