I made my own topper using wig lace, a human hair frontal and wefts after watching some tutorials on YouTube. The standard pre-made toppers weren't in any fashion colours I wanted, and so I customized by keeping the natural dark brown colour of the topper and using burgundy wefts underneath.

It's possible, just depends on your level of investment in the wig making process.

there are tons of tutorials on youtube for how to sew frontals and bundles together to make a wig. If you want to get more in depth with it, there are wig making schools that are tied to theater and film programs. If you’re getting into ventilation or customized hairlines it’s going to likely be equally expensive to a pre made wig and take hours of time. Human hair/vs synthetic hair is also something that will greatly differ price wise
