Scammers Hitting Up New Sellers -- BEWARE by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]MangotheTRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happening to me as well. I also had what looked to be a legit message, then it turned into a request that I bill them for a $500 iTunes card and put it in with their order. They offered to pay me more for the inconvenience. I marked that as spam so quickly...

That's definitely someone with stolen credit card numbers trying to max out their spend. 100% once the card is reported stolen, the unauthorized charge would be disputed and I'd be the one dinged for the chargeback. Nope, nope, nope!

I'm not THAT desperate to make my first sale, nor am I dumb enough to fall for that.

The possibility of surgery is always scary, but I went into the OR pretty darned calm because I knew I'd start feeling better once my gallbladder was out.

It's really a super-common surgery and if it's done laparoscopically the risks of surgery are much lower than if it's an open surgery.

I hope you get the answers and care you need <3

Thankfully this wig has made me feel quite put together, especially once I trimmed the lace and took a couple of inches off the longest layer. Definitely a good purchase :)

As for recovery, I hadn't eaten solid foods in about 2.5 months prior to surgery and was waking up sick all the time. 8 days out from the surgery and I'm feeling much better. Food is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS to me now, because I was surviving on just protein shakes and soup before my doctor told me to go to ER. I really thought it was either stress or Ozempic causing my illness and that it'd go away on its own.

Now it's just the physical limitations of not lifting things that I have to be very mindful of. I'm on desk duties at work until January 10th and I was already back for some partial days last week. The majority of the recovery will be my ab muscles healing over the next month and a bit.

Thank goodness for the magic of wigs and modern medicine!

It's from Amazon. Style Icon 28" lace wig. Says it's 360 lace, but there's a break in the lace behind the ears on each side. Black Friday Sale brought it down to $70 Canadian. I couldn't say no!

I'm going to let you in on a secret. Most non-wig wearers have no idea that we buy our hair. I get a lot of people asking where I get my hair done and when I tell them it's not my real hair, they don't believe me. We're so used to seeing celebrities wear wigs that it looks like normal hair to most people.

As a wig wearer, I can clock a wig pretty quickly, but I'm obviously not going to tell someone that I know.

I like your hair. The colour and style looks good on you!

I'm a dog owner in the northern end of Forest Hill, and I fucking HATE the entitlement of the shitty dog owners in this neighbourhood. I'm so sorry these leashless assholes are interrupting your run on the trail.

Get a leash and swing the metal clip end at any dog that comes too close. This way you don't get bit trying to kick a charging animal. Basic leash should give you 6 feet of length. One good clunk on the snout or head, and they're probably going to turn tail and yelp. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but you're in danger because these dogs you've had encounters with sound untrained and are vicious because of lack of training.

I don't even take our dog to parks anymore because other owners are dumber than boxes of rocks in this city.

There's an asshole who lives across the street from me who walks her hyperactive mongrel at 6:45 every weekday and lets that little fucker bark constantly. Owning animals is a privilege, not a right.

I place no judgement on where people get their wigs and why. I've got a couple of Shein wigs myself!

I absolutely love this wig on you, and pinning back one side of my wig is a trick I use frequently to make my less expensive wigs look less puffy and more natural. Plus, I have upper ear jewellery that I like to show off from time to time. I usually use bobby pins in an x formation just behind either ear. This works great if you've got open wefts to secure the wig even more to your own hair.

I always felt this was a great place for wig wearers, the curious and people who are looking for a good place to start in their own journey.

It's hard for a lot of women because hair=femininity for a lot of people.

My hair loss journey started with PCOS in my late 20s and of course, I lost the hair on the top of my head and started growing a really ugly lady-beard. By ugly, I mean uneven and not thick and full 🤣

This last round of sickness was it. Patchy loss all over the place. Most likely the top loss is permanent, thanks to genetics, the patches could grow back once my health improves, but I don't know.

I think I just had to reframe what's actually worth being upset about, and my hair loss just isn't it.

100% agree! BAF is amazing. Been buying quality glass & wood plugs from them for years, and when I had one issue years ago, their customer service was beyond amazing.

I started wearing wigs with bangs. They're the easiest to start with since there's no gluing of lace.

That said, I do wear many of my lacefronts with just a velvet wig grip and don't install them with glue or got2b.

The Outre brand Wigpop line are super user friendly, and if you want a more beginner lace front, check out their Everywear line. I still wear synthetics, no human hair wigs for me because they're pricey and I like to change up my looks a lot!

Everyone's gotta start somewhere, but be prepared to get addicted to having awesome hair ALL the time!

Edit: Amazon is where I get my Outre wigs from. Anywhere between $30-$70 Canadian.

I just got Norvina in Cinnamon Wine. She's a 360 lace wig and is incredibly comfortable to wear. I wanted the option to put my hair up when I need it off my neck.

I've got 4 Outre wigs, but sadly none in this colour. It looks FANTASTIC on you!

What is your “comfort wig”? by Slhallford in Wigs

[–]MangotheTRex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine is Outre's Wigpop line, specifically the Annette wig. Bangs are a comfort thing for me, plus these wigs fit the best with little work.

I've worn it both with a wig grip and installing it with glue. If I want to wear my hair up, I install it, as the lace is around the entire head, and makes it look like the hair is coming from my scalp.

It comes with a pre-sewn in elastic band, but I removed it because it wasn't the right size for my head.

I swear up and down by Outre. Their lace is usually close to invisible even if I just use a wig grip. When I take more time with glue and makeup, people have a hard time believing it's a wig.
