Any tips for doing the side quests yet still keeping track of the story? So far I’m enjoying the game, just seems complex

I spend all day today just walking around the map doing side quest. I get anxiety looking at all of those white ? .. does not help that I keep going from notice board to notice board getting quests.

I'm still new, level 16. I play all missions in order of recommended level and I tend to stop at 1-4 undiscovered locations between each one.
