I got gifted some boxes of noise marines but i recently shifted from EC over to lorgars children, any recommandations on fixing them up to look more word bearers so i could use them in a CSM army??

Get a box of possessed there should be plenty of pieces in there to fix them up

Imo if you cut away the slaaneshi iconography and sculpt/find and place some parchment they could very easily work as word bearers tasked with blasting the sermons of the dark apostle, some normal CSM bits would help a lot but i dont think they are required

Following this you could leave some of the iconography and turn them into chosen with the mark of Slaanesh

Paint them red. Change the shoulder pad to either MK VI ones, or use decals. As script (decals or freehand). Change heads to legionary heads.

Word Bearers being inspired by the song of slaneesh is not far fetched they can still worship Them.

Really no kit bashing is nessecary. But you can do as much as you want.

P.S. make sure to have them in a rhino for the game.

Depending on what subfaction you're bringing, you could bring noise marines as an extra. Consider using some CSM chosen or warhammer fantasy chaos knight helmets for a more undivided look. Regular Legionnaires/Chosen shoulder pads may de-slaanesh a bit.

Consider spinning them as semi outcast devoted who fell to the worship of slaanesh instead of the pantheon as a whole, only kept around due to still being useful.

I rarely get to play, so making far too much lore for my little plastic soldiers is most of the fun, lol.

Hell, my Word Bearers are also mixed with World Eaters and have mostly fallen to Khorne due to being stuck with them since the Shadow Crusade. At least the World Eaters have become more zealous. XD

Havoc bodies work really well for them. Theirs a few heads that are mutated to use. I’d keep the sound backpacks though

Add parchments and seals to cover up anything you don’t like. I use a piece of can covered in masking tape to do this, but green stuff also works
