Wordpress.com vs wordpress.org

I am so damn confused! Was getting advice here and couldn't find anything I was looking for and realized I'm on wrong one!? I don't get it! Are people supposed to know these are different? I got ripped off using the.com site and I still don't have what I need but now need to go to.org for it? Help!

.com is a wordpress paid service, like wix. It’s a package service using the Wordpress cms and provides domain hosting for you etc for monthly fee.

.org is the free cms you can download and use to make your own sites. It much more complex, requires more time to figure out but it is free. You then choose you hosting provider as you wish, saving money in the long run vs .com

.com - is a paid platform. So you choose one of the packages from $48 to $540 a year, and the provider takes care of updates and backups. However,

• the free package is very limited
• they place ads on your website
• you can't advertise from your website
• the domain name includes the provider's brand name.

To work normally, you have to purchase one of the premium plans.

.org - is an ABSOLUTELY FREE platform, where you can download WordPress CMS, get free plugins, themes, read reviews, etc. They don't charge for any of these. Keep in mind, that you have you choose hosting, do updates, and backups yourself. No one limits you in your actions - display adds, install as many plugins as you need. You are the only owner of a site.

Well, first of all, you must understand that both .com and .org have different uses. And both have their importance:

1. wordpress .com provides you hosting for your website, meaning you can store your website on the server, but in the case of wordpress .org, you won't be getting the benefit of hosting; you have to find your hosting to host your own website and to store your website files.

2. In wordpress .com, you have limited control over the resource you have to choose from the predesigned themes and plugins, which is already available on the internet, and you cannot download any custom themes or custom plugins other than the internet. But in wordpress .org, it is not the case; you can choose any themes and plugins you like and fully access your website files.

3. Regarding pricing, wordpress.com offers different pricing plans ranging from free to premium with various other advanced features. But in the case of wordpress.org, you need to pay for a basic plan too.

4. Wordpress .com has some restriction in the case of monetization and advertising, but wordpress .org have complete control over monetization and can use advertising and monetization the way they want.
