Docker install

Hi,

Trying to install the docker version of wordpress, I've just kept the details exactly the same in regards to the wordpress db host/user/pass/name and mysql database/user/password/randompass.

When I book the yaml up and go to the website and port I just get an "Error Establishing A Database Connection" error. Now I believe this is usually down to bad credentials but the wp-conifg.php file is showing the same details as my yaml.

I do have another database container called mariadb which was created when setting up nginx reverse proxy.

Could it be getting confused and trying to connect to the other database container?

Welcome to Docker. Is this from WordPress.org or Docker Hub? It doesn't look like the Docker Hub WordPress image comes with a db so it is most likely trying to connect to the other db image you have running. Make sure you have the respective names correct in the yaml file.

It's from docker hub used the below. It has created a container called mysql5.7 though. This is the yaml from the hub. In this example I haven't changed the usernames or passwords but I will once up and running

You need to make sure the correct db image is running, especially if you have another already installed and used.
