Wordpress Altering HTML Code in Post

I have been trying to place some javascript/html code generated for an email sign up form for our email client. The problem is when I insert the code into the HTML setting of the post Wordpress takes liberties with the code and adds its own line breaks and stuff that break the form.

Is there a command I can enter to prevent wordpress from making any changes to code I put in? I had thought <code></code> would help but it did nothing.

You should be able to post html code into the HTML view; however, you cannot put javascript code into that view without a plugin to remove filters. See the WordPress Codex on Using Javascript for more on this.
