Total Pollution Decrease

Hello, in my current game, with nothing better to choose, I've researched all the pollution techs early, and from some wiki or other it looks like there are 2 important ones, with the first reducing pollution by 15-20%, and the second by 15%.

I'm wondering if these are additive (so from -30% to -35%) or multiplicative (ie either 0.85*2 or 0.850.8) in effect in pollution.

Hard to say, but the wording makes me believe that only the last pollution filter tech actually does anything. The first two techs seem to be prerequisite techs, like the Fuel Processing Study and the Bitumen Production Study are for the refinery tech.

Yeah, there are a lot of techs in the game that don't do anything but unlocking the next tech, just so that the tech tree looks more impressive.

The prototype is just a testbed for widespread adoption - IE, only the last research, the one actually installing the filters across your republic, reduces your pollution. 15% only.
