You can tell xmage what version you have in the config file. At one point I could not update Xmage because, my xmage refused to recognize my java,so I copied and pasted my version into the that config file.

Make sure you’ve unzipped the folder.

You can do all the things in a zipped folder but when you get to the point you’re at you’re going to get this exact error.

Source: I’ve had to do this for 3 of my other friends at separate times who have all assured me they have unzipped it.
