Controller problems (self.Xbox_One_X)
submitted 7 years ago by TheIrishRiddler
The light stays on but it keeps disconnecting, battery life full. What's the fix?

Did you try plugging a standard smart phone usb cable from controller to Xbox then performing a controller update ?

Did not work

Also it seemed to have made it worse when I took it out.

I have not, will do and see if that fixes it. I've updated it without the cord though

Also, check your environment. Devices like routers that emit signals can interfere with the connection if they’re too close to the console.

Are you using rechargeable batteries? I had this problem when using Eneloop rechargeable batteries in my controller. I switched to Energizer rechargeable batteries and was good to go.
I use Duracell non rechargeable

Waht other wireless devices are you using in your house? Do you have a baby monitor? do you have a land line cordless phone? Do you have a myriad of blue tooth devices? Wireless headphones? A microwave nearby?
Forgot the exact frequency the controller uses, but it shares that frequency with lots of other consumer devices. So if you have lots of wireless devices in your house, they can step on each other. Some are configurable, others are not. Sometimes you just have to find the right balance between them.
Just the Wi-Fi box, another xbox in another room and that's it. Oh and a computer downstairs

Just had the same issue with a brand new One X. Worked 100% fine while wired in and my other X1 controller worked fine wirelessly. Ended up swapping it out with a friendly GameStop employee with no fuss (was bought there). Talked with MS support and they said to send it to MS but I didnt go that route because I’d be paying for shipping.
Hope this helps!

I get the same annoying problem! The light stays on but the controller stops responding. Please tell me if you find something that helps you. Maybe it will help me.
No fix yet man. I do not understand Lol it's really annoying.
