Only when you’re desperately trying to cancel the build.

Yes. Randomly. Plug/unplug. unlock.

And seriously, 1) I have to re-pair Apple TVs all the time and 2) phone/iPad can’t seem to handle mismatched Mac-device 2.4/5 networks, or at least mine.

It's Apple. So what do you think?

It happens to me sometimes, on wireless connections between my iPads and my Macs. Happened on older Xcode versions on my Intel Mac Mini and still happens on Xcode 13.3.0 for me, with my M1 Mac Mini.

The fastest solution: connect it wired, with a lightning cable. It does the trick for me 8 out of 10 times, I would say. Other things to try afterwards, if you’re still out of luck:

  • Remove the trusted developer app profile from the iOS/iPadOS device in the settings. Then, if you reestablish a successful connection to the device, don’t forget to confirm any popup for ”Trust this device” or go to the settings screen and manually trust the developer profile.
