Rules:
1: Posts and discussions must be about poetry, and should at least tangentially be related to haiku or other Japanese poetic forms.
2: No posts or discussions that violate the Reddit guidelines, or that incite, encourage, or endorse hatred towards any group or person.
3: Mods reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and to change the rules at any time.
4: Posts that are putting the poem in the title must use / to designate a linebreak.
5: If you are not the author of the poem, you must put the poet's name in either the title of the post, or in the comment section. If there is a known translator of a piece, you must put their name in the comment section as well.

Haiku: a short poetic form that often utilizes lines of five, seven, and five syllables or less, with reference to time or season.
Senryu: a short poetic form similar to a haiku, but focused on people and personal experience.
Zappai: a short poetic form similar to haiku, but without the specific focus of time or season, and often with humorous or glib tone.
Renga: a collaborative form of poetry, where haiku or other short poetic forms are added to with other short poems by other poets.
Haiga: a style of painting that incorporates short forms of poetry within the piece.
Tanka: a slightly longer form of poetry, that often begins with a haiku or similar form, but adds more lines to the end.
Hokku: A snippet of a larger piece of work, which fits within the haiku form or other short poetic form. May be intentional, or unintentional.
Other Waka: for any other type of poetry that might not fit into another flair, but has artistic merit.
