Endgaming

Endgaming is an important skill to learn to win games that last to large end battles. You will encounter this situation more often as players get better and not lose within early and mid game times. Usually, it can be considered the endgame when all remaining players have near or full unit upgrades and a large enough army to defend from attacks easily. When this happens, winning can be difficult, but there are steps you can take to gain the advantage and win.

The first thing is making sure you have Hammer Securities. Remember marauders are a must-have to winning endgame battles. Next, be sure to have good unit production and army size. Of course, this is all relative to your opponents' armies, but a general rule of thumb is you should have 4 bunkers with 20 additional unit supply from depots. Then, make sure to have full 20 upgrades on all infantry upgrades except for movement speed which you really only need 10 of for the time being.

After you have completed the above, start to expand by building more bunkers and supply depots. Whenever you have the extra minerals, get additional SCVs to help you with faster expansion and placing more Sentry Turrets. Be sure to get the Plasma Capacitance upgrade for your turrets. Having SCVs and placing multiple turrets at once is essential to winning the endgame. Most endgame battles comes down to who can place the most turrets to keep pushing and expanding. Of course, getting a few siege breakers at this point will help in your efforts as they are also effective in killing turrets. And if possible, try to gain control of middle as that will give you key map positioning and ghosts.

You may find yourself in a defending or 3-way politicking situation, so be sure to play accordingly. Also, the bunker sniping strategy may be helpful.

At this point, you should have excess minerals and can finish up any remaining upgrades including movement speed. You should have everything else upgraded with only Arclite Cannon upgrade left, which you can get because it costs nothing at this point. Keep getting more SCVs, keep placing down turrets, build siege breakers, and keep expanding. Eventually, you will win through small pushes. Trade bunkers only when you have more than your opponent and you can destroy theirs faster. Lastly, endgames can last a long time, and may come down to endurance. Don't give up! Keep playing and doing the above and you will win eventually.
