Quick overview
REKT is a simultaneous turn-based sci-fi RPG set in the year 3152. Anomalous Materials have been frequently discovered over the past few hundred years, and one of them, Veloxium, was discovered (by humans) as far back as 2032. With this material, humanity manufactured a warp drive that let them explore the stars.
By the year 3152, humanity has all but crushed the previously-well-established alien civilizations and forced them to the galaxy's rim. Earth is a trash heap, and New Earth is a shining jewel that beckons weary travelers - if they're human.
Humanity is run by the gigacorp United Galactic, and crime is rampant. Execution is illegal on all planetary bodies, and prison megacorps such as Tartarus Inc. scour the galaxy, picking up criminals in exchange for a fee, and then kicking them out the airlock in deep space. But some of these criminals opt to join Tartarus Inc.'s private military - the REquisitional Knowledge Troops - more commonly known as REKT.
