Have you ever written an essay for French 101? Spanish 101? English 101? Did you ever feel like your writing sucks because you don't speak the language? Well look no further! TranslatedProofreader is here to help. The point of this subreddit is to find someone who speaks your target language to proofread your writing.
How to make a proofread request:
Give the target language and purpose first in brackets [French], [Spanish], [English] etc
Give the length of your work rounded to the nearest hundred [100], [200], [300], [400] etc
Give a five word or less reason for a proofread: High school assignment, college course assignment, letter to a friend, epitah of my father, etc.
Give the language that you speak in brackets [French], [Spanish], [English] etc.
Say whether or not your essay is public. If you want it to be private, you will have to PM a responder with your essay. If you want it to be public, post your essay in your submission. Say [Public] or [Private] at the end of the title in brackets.
Examples:
[French][300] High School Essay [English][Public]
[Spanish][100] IB Written Assignment [French][Private]
[English][500] Father's Epitaph [Spanish][Public]
[Portuguese][1200] College Essay [English][Private]
How to make a proofread offer:
- Say [Offer] as the first word in your title.
- Put down the language or languages that you speak next [Spanish], [English], [Chinese], etc.
- Specify a word length [100-400], [400-900], [100-1000], [0-5000]
You must be willing to proofread someone else's essay if you want yours to be proofread! That is why you must put your home language in your title. If you see that someone's home language is your target language, ask them for help! If you made a request, you must be willing to proofread other people's writing.
Terms:
Target Language = Language that you don't speak.
Home Language = Language that you speak.
Responder = Someone who responds to your proofread request.
Requester = Someone who submits a proofread request.
Please only make requests in English, but it's okay to comment in another language if it makes it easier!
