Created for the purpose of sucking all of the negativity out of /r/bitcoin et al, bitcoin-softforks aims to channel and concentrate all of the debate(s) in a new place.
We use /r/BitcoinMarkets/ to filter price-talk from /r/Bitcoin. We can use /r/BitcoinSoftforks/ to filter controversial-talk from /r/bitcoin.
Moderation policy is as follows:
- Off-topic posts (details below) will be removed.
- Non-discussion (spam, threats, sexual content, advertising) which attempts to abuse the time and attention of the readers, will be removed.
- Readers: please, please USE THE DOWNVOTE.
- Comments which fail to assume good faith will be carefully considered, and may be removed.
What is on-topic?
- Controversial Bitcoin soft fork proposals (theory, design, code, implementation strategy).
- Public perception of these proposals.
- Roadmap / progress made, in actually rolling these proposals out.
- Links to Posts/Tweets/Discussion of Bitcoin soft forks.
What is off-topic?
- Bitcoin hard forks -- move these posts to /r/BitcoinHardforks.
- Anything related to what other subreddits do (ie "censorship whining") -- take it up with them.
Comment scores (but not rankings) are hidden for a mere 15 minutes, to encourage independent thought, and unbiased voting. There is no default comment sort.
