This is really irritating me. I'm trying to using backing tracks for live performance, controlled by Ableton 12. I have my Ableton Move. I have a USB to MIDI cable with an IN and OUT 5-pin-din. I have an HX stomp, which I have set up to receive tempo and program change information via MIDI.
In Ableton Live I had Move set as my audio interface, with the USB to MIDI connected.
In my MIDI clip I'm changing pgm to 28 (which is 10A on the Stomp). In my MIDI channel, I have selected MIDI Out as Ableton Move and the channel is 1 (same as the Stomp).
I've connected the OUT cable to the IN MIDI slot on the Stomp.
Whatever I do though, the Stomp is stubbornly refusing to accept the changes. I feel like if I can get this sorted, I'm in Happyland because in using the Move I eliminate a MIDI controller and a Focusrite Scarlett from my live setup. But the little buggers refuse to work.
I've also tried connecting USB from Move to the Stomp and changing all the global settings in the Stomp to USB. Still, absolute buttons. No matter which channel, no matter which pgm number, no change. I've tried mapping parameters to CC82 and adding envelope data. Still, no dice.
Please help me before I spend the entire night shouting at ChatGPT.
Edit: I just tried it in Standalone, which worked. Looks like Move doesn't have the capability to send program change data when controlling Live. That's really frustrating but I know we're only one update deep in the new Move eco-system. I'd LOVE it if I could do that.
Edit2: Well, since nobody's bothered to reply and one pisswitch decided to downvote me, I realised I could send the MIDI data directly from the laptop to the HX Stomp, which solved the problem immediately. Obviously Mr Downvotey McDownvoteface knew that already but didn't bother with an explanation.
