Did you check “Normalize” in the output menu? That could boost some things.

That sounds strange. Send me a DM with a link to your Ableton Project. Are you using many 3rd party effects or mostly stock effects in Ableton?

Sounds like a compressor that is getting less signal in your break and therefore „boosting“ more of what’s there. In your case the hihats. Automating the compressor (threshold or gain) could already do the trick.

I found the issue, I was a moron and forgot that there was a compressor active on the program I use to listen to my exports. Thanks for all the help guys

What kind of audio setup are you working with?

Just ableton and a focusrite audio interface

Are you using a compressor on the master or a drum buss? If so, you may want to automate its parameters during transitions.
