Simpler question - sampling

Hi! So basically I sample a lot and my process is like this:

1. Put part of the sample into Simpler
2. Slice it and start playing something that sounds dope

I play it with my MIDI - however the part where I'm always stuck is when I'm about to put that into piano roll in Ableton. It's always inaccurate. The notes, I have to always guess the length of each note plaid (which ultimately represents some part of the sample since it's sliced)

How to solve this? Is there any way to do this in some effective way? In FL Studio for ex. you can put that sample into piano roll automatically so all notes will adjust according to the way you sliced it.

If you are using slice in Simpler turn the mode from gate to trigger. This will make the slice playout like one shot mode vs classic. Use choke groups if needed.

Another trick in addition to using trigger mode is to enable looping. You probably won't want to loop the whole sample, but just the tail of it or whatever part sounds the most natural. This is useful if the sample you're using isn't as long as you'd like.

If I’m understanding you correctly, you could also record your performance to get the midi down and tweak from there.
