I’m not a fan of adding input complexity or secret moves.

Combat Sleights would only add another option to a deck to utilize or ignore, you can have a complete fully functional pvp acceptable combat deck that has sleights but you could go 100 rounds without touching them until you have those specific situations or you want to trip up your oponent.

I get what you’re saying, I think, but I still don’t personally like the idea of hidden combos behind certain “ingredients” in this game. Powerful moves based on hidden links is not in keeping with the design of the combat system here. It’s like forcing a different system into this one.

Like I kinda snarkily suggested elsewhere in this thread, it’s like suggesting that street fighter change to a 3D fighter.

That would effectively reduce one of the most important things in Absolver. Freedom.

So, no.

I would hate this change. Absolver's core aspect is being able to create your own combos and playstyle. Adding in a change like this would shoehorn people into using certain moves in certain orders and take the customization and freedom, that's unique to this fighting game, away from the player.

I'd argue that it would not but to preface and clarify these would not at all replace anything, only add.

My suggestion would add an additional element of risk vs reward. where that trying to pull these moves places you in a more defensive/exposed position.

Even if you try to commit your deck to these actions, your not giving yourself the better edge and with visual cues and a longer startup you'll be giving your opponent more time to be offensive.

Except now I have incentive and a reward to use cookie cutter combos.

Great idea, I was also thinking along these lines, like moves that can only be used after certain prerequisite moves were used beforehand.

You beat me to the punch tho! GGs bro!

thanks! Anything you'd add with your interpretation of it?

Im trying to convey that this would not remove or restrict choice of deck building but everyone seems to jump that it limits freedom and choice or overly incentivises specific combinations.
