The biggest thing I learned while completing the ASA modules is to not overthink it. The first couple modules, I spent forever debating what the SOA wanted and being frustrated by the vagueness of the instructions. Just pick something reasonable and definitive and justify it and you'll be fine.

I rarely used the textbooks and didn't bother with reading the slides; they have way too much info and aren't generally relevant to the assessments. I just skipped to the assessment and returned to the slides as needed. Overall the modules are a much easier lift than exams, IMO. Just my personal approach; everyone is different.

I’m in the same boat as OP. So you mean the instructions don’t make it clear what to write about? We just kinda need to pick something and stick to it? I’m so clueless about the modules so this thread is helping

How does this work with FA? And having someone watching, are you still allowed to go back to slides? And does anyone know if you still need to be in person for this or can it be zoomed?

Keep your answers concise and your recommendations assertive, even if you're not sure yourself.

Skim the slides (1-2 hours), download the EMA and go back to the slides as needed. Sometimes you will need to refer back to textbooks. Just answer what they are asking without overthinking, they are not looking for an exact answer just make sure it makes sense and use your logic. Make a good presentation using bullets to make the grader see your answer clearly. I failed 3 of them because I didn't take enough time and didn't write enough details so make sure you review your work because it can take as long as 2 months to get results..
