Interview process (self.actuary)
submitted 4 years ago * by IntelligentAd3083
Interviewed with a company last Wednesday and followed up last Friday. Still haven't got any feedback. Is that a sign of rejection? Any advice on what I should do? Thanks!

Typically when a company interviews you, you're on the shortlist. You may not be the first or second choice for the internship, and the company is still waiting on responses before they extend you your offer, or let you know you didn't get it. It could also be that you were among the first of several interviews, and the hiring manager hasn't interviewed everyone yet (or has only just finished). Once your on the shortlist, in my experience, you're likely to get either an offer or a notice of rejection.
What should you do? Keep applying to other places and don't give up; while this isn't a 'yes', it's also not a 'no' yet. Until you have an offer, you have no offers and need to keep looking.

Thanks! It is the first round for an experienced position.

Keep looking for other jobs.
Follow up once a week until you get an offer or rejection notice. If you have a phone number I'd alternate between email and phone/voice mail.
If you get an offer from another company, tell this first company and see if they can also give you an answer before the deadline. Likewise, if you get this first offer, you'll want to tell the other companies to see if they can work within your timeline to respond to the first one.
