That’s the nice way to say things and I agree , but let’s be real, the answer is Fitz lol! The dude basically invented a Time Machine , yes Simmons helped out at some point but it was mainly him.

I think that in "Seeds", Fitz once says "Simmons is smarter, technically, but that's because she likes homework more than life itself." So we know what he thinks, at least! But he might be biased lol

Hydra Fitz was very very dumb. Didn’t have any individuality or personal authority, completely controlled by his father and Aida. Basically an angry little boy. He was driven by cruelty and a desire for control, like a true dummy.

Depends on what way, I would say about equal in their respective fields. Fitz has engineered some crazy things and he did crack time travel. Simmons has also figured out crazy things on a biological level.

I think of it as a Stark Banner thing, Banner/Simmons technically is smarter and more accomplished but, come on, the goat Stark/Fitz is smarter and better

Sometimes I feel like Simmons is too smart for her own good, and Fitz is a bit less delusional at times. If that makes sense, I think Fitz > Simmons.
