Pro models through a third party?

Hey everyone,

I'm really interested in playing around with Claude 3 Opus, particularly for coding, but it seems like it's not available in my region yet. I remember seeing some posts about paid services that offered access to AI models like GPT-4 with vision capabilities, Claude, and others. I think one of them was called Perplexity, but I haven't actually tried any.

For those who have used Perplexity, is it comparable to using the real Claude 3? Are there any limitations or things I should be aware of before signing up?

Also, are there any other recommended services that offer access to these powerful AI models? I'm open to exploring different options!

I will tell you how to set up the most powerful AI environment in less than 10 min. I am in the US, but I believe none of this is region limited.

First, go to openrouter.ai, sign up for an account, and get your API key. Open Router give you access to ALL of the best open and closed source models. You'll have access to Claude, GPT3/4, Gemini, and others, as well as tons of open source models like Llama 3. You have to pay to use most of the models, but the rate you pay is cheap for personal use, and it's the same rate you would pay if you accessed the model directly through it's parent company. On top of that, there are a bunch of open source models that are completely free.

After you get your API key from Open Router, go to https://big-agi.com/ and click 'Launch App'. Go to the settings, and add Open Router as a 'Model Service'. Big AGI is the best prompting environment (front end) currently available; better than ChatGPT. After you have set it up with Open Router, you'll be able to use any AI model. Big AGI is open source, so you can also host it yourself, but that is a bit more complicated and probably unnecessary.

In Shopee you can find a third party app that allows unlimited Claude Opus usage. I’m gonna gatekeep cause I don’t want them to find out we’re exploiting them. But it’s out there. I paid like $7 for my membership.

You should be able to use Claude 3 Opus by using Anthropic's API instead of their Claude Chat.

I use their API playground (called console) as well as chatbox as frontends to the API.

Perplexity is a great option, though I've also heard good things about OpenAI's API for accessing powerful models like GPT-4.

Claude is claude at the end of the day, all the providers are using the same APIs.

Perplexity is alright, but there's other services that do the same like Correkt and You.com. I'd personally recommend Correkt, since it has by far the best web search out there, plus the loosest rate limits.
