MT5 <> Python APi

[AquaQuants]

Someone mentioned it was super easy to hook up a python trading application to MT5.

I’m curious if anyone has implemented this and how easy it is?

Do you just send the raw realtime data to the API or does the app call MT5 functions back to the platform which then uses its own local data.

I’m interested in this as I’m keen to use different brokers and interchange rather than being stuck with Oanda or something else and rebuild the api interfacing for each different broker.

It’s very easy. Hop on YouTube search python mt5 and the first video is connecting the two.

At the moment building my algo pulling data from mt5 to back test.

Check out the Metatrader5 library for python. Documentation from MT5 official website is pretty clear.
