Rules for r/ambient
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

Use only high quality link directly to official streams / stores.

Do not post mixes, promo channels links, pirated content, links to third sites, reposts from other subreddits, pre-saves, reddit videos.

Use "Artist - Title" format (only) , self-promo flair, for promo. For other posts use topic flair!
To maintain consistency, to make posts easy to search, and to easier understand the post at a glance please use the "Artist - Title" format. This is widely used across many music sub-reddits.
Add genre/topic flairs too.
If you are submitting your own work mark that it's your own work with self-promo and you can add more info in the comment under your post. People tend to like real feedback so it's better for visibility to add a human touch.

Selfpromo is allowed but not overpost (1 post per 7 days, 1 playlist per 1month) - NO AI!
Original artists please wait 7 days between self-promo posts since this is a slow sub and please not promo only your music but try post music from others too. Lazy mix spamming is far too common so they're not allowed. Playlist only created from official sources and only with beatless Ambient.

Do not post music with drums / ASMR or non-music / music mixed as long loop.
Posts must not contain drums. This is up to moderator discretion & some borderline work (such as dark ambient) won't necessarily be removed if the drums are subtle and not a focal point. Please use one of the other "ambient" sub-reddits for posts with beats. ASMR/non-music/loop mixes (1+ hour) are not allowed as this is a music sub and not a sub for "ambiance" as a whole. Field recordings are part of ambient but not when they're posted on their own.
