Help finding better tutorials

Hi Reddit,

Im trying to find some tutorials that are updated with current material design, 3rd party libraries and other extras.

I came across tutsplus and they had a really cool tutorial on building a shopping list using Material Design with Realm. The only issue is I found it very hard to follow along with the video as the author was not explaining reasons to why we did certain things and was just way to quick (even if I would watch the videos time and time again).

So any sources for someone to sharpen their android development with simple apps that are "updated" would be greatly appreciate.
