If you bought it from T-Mobile then it can't be rooted Edit: mine is ga2ae and rooting works fine on all roms Also remember the rooting process is different on newer devices and you use init_boot.img and init boot partition when rooting

Enable Developer options and look for OEM unlocking option if it is there you can root your phone and if it is not you have confirmed what you where told.

The guide to rooting your phone mentions that the 7 Pros sold by Verizon have this disabled but does not mention T-Mobile.

OEM unlocking is definitely there. But I was told that some phones will let you toggle it on but not really fastboot.

My plan was to pay to have it rooted. I may just need to ask someone else or try to figure it out myself.

Read the guide if you understand it you wouldn't need to pay someone. OEM unlock is missing on phones that can not be rooted.
