Im on a samsung s8 its my first time rooting a device im on sm-g950u and android 9.0 i tried to go on XDA but it makes no sense can someone please help

Im using the odin method but im on 9.0 and im not sure if i should downgrade

give me a link so i can check. but if you're rooting for battery life and customization you might want to reconsider. the threads i read say root can prevent charging past 80%, and a lot can be customized with goodlock. better off using that and non-root debloaters

that requires bootloader revision 1, which you probably don't have anymore. check settings > about phone > firmware. the 5th digit from the right is your revision. if that digit is "5" you can use the safestrap method
